Possessing perhaps the largest Irish music vocal inventory of any man living, Anthony also has an incredibly stunning repertoire of classical music. Presented within these pages is the repertoire from which Anthony pulls his solo concerts. We hope that reading the ‘song list’ of Anthony Kearns will pique your interest into attending solo performances by this gifted artist.
In addition to his work with The Irish Tenors, Anthony's solo career is flourishing. Between tours of Ireland and appearing on opera stages, Kearns tours the U.S. at least twice annually. His solo concerts are often presented in the recital format, accompanied by a sole piano played by Patrick Healy: a dramatic way to present The Voice - to carry the music enhanced by no orchestration. It leaves one in no doubt: a unique and exceptional talent is performing.
The music presented by Mr. Kearns at his solo concerts is eclectic and often surprising. One expects to hear the traditional Irish selections. Sprinkled throughout are classical pieces, sweeping Tenor arias, light opera for humor, incredible show tunes, and what Anthony calls, "melodies of a golden age:" songs from times long ago resurrected lovingly and given new life.
The variety of music performed at a Kearns Solo Concert reaches out and touches the audience. It sets the toe tapping, brings a tear to the eye, puts a smile on the lips and a song in the heart. There is something for everyone, and it is finely honed and done to perfection. Anthony has often said that "If someone gives a smile or sheds a tear, then I've done my job."
